Delete the remnants from different cracks, if you are using EXE from different cracks, make sure to USE the original EXE files that are compatible with your version of the game.

Now, I did battle some issues with running Vice City on Windows 7, mostly around mouse control, as I've shown you in a neat little tutorial, but this was a new set of problems. Not to worry, there's a solution to all this. Let us fix the issues and enjoy GTA! Problem statement All right. So you've installed the Steam version.
Since i've been running games that requires a much higher sensitivity, i've been using a DPI of 600 for both my desktop and games. Of course a DPI like this would be hell to get used to for Vice City, so I used the Y-Axis Fix from the pcgamingwiki, but there's a problem; everytime you start a new game and changes you've made to the mouse sensitivity resets back to normal.

As you can see below I had a problem with Vice City, but I've *just* discovered how to make it work. The problem lies with Windows 7's DEP (Data Execution Prevention) To fix it, do the following: Delete .set file from your Documents\Vice City User Files folder Open the Start menu, in the search box type "advanced system settings".
I've got my mouse set pretty sensitive normally (21" monitor) but the up and down movement is insane in Vice City even with the mouse sensitivity turned all the way down to 1. Energizer59 Neo-newbie
Yeah doing this on these old GTA games will break the physics and you can quite literally be killed by running down a slope, at least on GTA3, so I don't recommend it. Vice City's physics are fine in 60 FPS and plenty of people prefer the game in 60. Zuletzt bearbeitet von Craig ; 29.
when ingame ctrl-alt-delete right click gta-vc.exe properties compatibility tab Check the Disable Visual theme thing Close and relaunch the game It should be working now.
Something weird is happening to me, I've copied the SilentPatchVC.asi file to the game main folder and launched the game, the patch didn't work so I went back to the game folder and the SilentPatchVC.asi file was missing, I have try to copy it again but the file just disappear automatically every time I launch the game.
For some reason I can't drive backwards in cars. The reversing lights go on, but the car doesn't move at all, well sometimes it does 1 or 2 times and sometimes it moves backwards really slow. Found it! While playing game on a newer PC the game works fine other then with Tommy in a vehicle in which case the car will NOT go in reverse. The white reverse lights on the car light up but the car
